Battery Rebuild Service:
We professionally rebuild your battery pack. When we are done testing, reconditioning and replacing modules of your battery pack, it will perform properly, like it did when it was new.
Most people take this option. Over the span of six-eight weeks, we test and recondition the subpacks ("sticks") and grade them. We identify and replace the subpacks that have failed or are starting to fail. We replace them with subpacks match the performance of the good subpacks in your battery. It is very important that the subpacks be balanced in terms of capacity and discharge performance curves.
This service costs $1250.
Many batteries are not repairable. As time goes on, the batteries that fail are becoming older, so the "good" sticks in the packs are not nearly as good as they once were. In addition, the pool of replacement sticks is aging too. There aren't many new batteries going into junkyards. Because of this, we offer a "test" service. When you contact us to send in your battery for repair, we collect a non-refundable $500 deposit (to cover our labor) and send out a shipping crate to pick it up. When your battery arrives, we perform a "triage" test that will identify the number of absolutely failed sticks and the overall health of the rest. If this test shows that the battery is unrepairable, we will offer you the option of either returning the battery to you (at no additional charge), or applying the $500 deposit toward the purchase of a BetterBattery. If you know your battery is not repairable, you should not go this route, as it will add weeks to your BetterBattery delivery time.

Battery Installation Service
If you are in the NYC area, we can remove and reinstall your battery. We charge a $200 fee for this service. This is a one and one-half hour job for a mechanic, but we have so much experience at installing them that we can complete the job in about 30 minutes.
