Battery Rebuild Service:
We professionally rebuild your battery pack. When we are done testing, reconditioning and replacing modules of your battery pack, it will perform properly, like it did when it was new.
Most people take this option. Over the span of three weeks, we test and recondition the subpacks ("sticks") and grade them. We identify and replace the subpacks that have failed or are starting to fail. We replace them with subpacks match the performance of the good subpacks in your battery. It is very important that the subpacks be balanced in terms of capacity and discharge performance curves.
This service costs $750 for labor plus $50 for each subpack that needs to be replaced. If more than ten of the twenty subpacks need to be replaced, then you pay a flat fee of $500 for parts.
The average battery needs five subpacks replaced ($250).
Advance Replacement IMA Batteries:
Advance replacement batteries are no longer available for shipment - only for on-site installation.
An advance replacement battery is built using someone else's bad battery. We cannot guarantee that the circuit board and wiring of the donor battery is good, so we no longer offer this option. We have had cases where batteries with good cells generated IMA lights because of damaged cables or faulty connectors. The exception is a battery installed at our site, because if it doesn't work, we can replace components on the spot. These errors appear immediately after the car is started, so by the time we're done, your car is perfect.
To alleviate this problem, we now offer loaner batteries. These are batteries that aren't in the best of shape, but they will allow you to use your car while the battery is being repaired.
There is no charge for a loaner battery, but you will have to pay the additional shipping (both ways) and leave a refundable security deposit. Loaner batteries also require you to send in your battery for repair within three weeks of receiving the loaner, and to ship back the loaner within three weeks of receiving your repaired battery. Of course, supplies of loaner batteries are limited, so contact us to check availability.

Sorry, these are no longer available for the same reasons that Advance replacement batteries are unavailable.
Battery Installation Service
If you are in the NYC area, we can remove and reinstall your battery. We charge a $200 fee for this service. This is a one and one-half hour job for a mechanic, but we have so much experience at installing them that we can complete the job in about 30 minutes.
On-Site Battery Installation
For an additional fee we can travel to you or meet you half-way. For example, If you live in North Carolina, we can meet you in Maryland and replace your battery in a motel parking lot. Call us with your special needs.
