Warranty:
All Hybrid-Battery-Repair batteries are covered by a one year/unlimited mileage warranty. They are warranteed against P1447, P1449 and related errors. During the first 90 days, we will cover shipping, or remove and install the battery at our location for free (your choice).
The following conditions apply to the warranty:
- You may not open or remove the stickers that say "Warranty void if removed".
- You must install the battery into your vehicle within 7 days of receipt.
- You must drive or idle the car for at least 30 minutes in every 14 day period. Parking the car for more than 14 days and then driving it will damage the battery and void the warranty. After sitting more than 14 days, an approved trickle charger must be used and the battery must be charged before the car is started.
- You must not charge or discharge the battery with any unapproved external charger.
- You must provide us with any error codes that the car has.
From the above conditions, you probably now realize that it is very bad for the battery to sit without being charged. This is because NiMH batteries naturally discharge (go flat) at a rate of about 5-10% per week. If a battery is allowed to fall below certain threshholds, it may become out of balance and this will lead to a P1447 failure. In our experience, any battery that sits for more than 90 days without charging will develop P1447 errors within 8-10 months. This is why junkyard packs work for a while and then fail.
